Los Angeles Dodgers at Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday
The Pittsgurgh Pirates is looking to turn around their team on Saturday night at home against a Los Angeles Dodgers. The Los Angeles Dodgers is now six games back of the NL West leading Giants. The matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 7:15 p.m. ET at PNC Park. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are struggling right now and will be sending Jeff Locke to the mound against the Dodgers. One of the main reasons why the Pirates are slipping is due to a pitching staff that gives up runs in bunches. Locke has an overall 5.44 ERA. He is best at home with a 4-1 record and a 3.26 ERA. Look for some runs to get put on the board in this one with the Dodgers doing most of it.
The LA Dodgers who has one of the best pitching staffs in baseball will be sending Kenta Maeda to the mound. Kenta Maeda is from Japan and has fit in very nicely as Clayton Kershaw’s compliment. He is 6-4 overall and has a 2.64 ERA. Maeda is very good on the road where his record is 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA and .185 batting average against.Top Sports Blog is a believer in Maeda’s stuff in this one and he has received an average of 6.3 runs per game to work with over the course of his 33.2 innings pitched away from Chavez Ravine. Teams that haven’t seen his stuff yet have really struggled with him. We think Pittsburgh is going to have trouble with Maeda the first couple times through the order.
