New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys in NFC East Rivalry on Sunday
The NFC East is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. This season The Dallas Cowboys start the season with a rookie quarterback as they host the New York Giants in their opener on Sunday. The Giants have lost five of their last six games against the Cowboys, but managed to win the final meeting between the teams last season. The Dallas Cowboys are 1-point underdogs for Sunday’s season opener. The Dallas Cowboys will start rookie Dak Prescott at quarterback this Sunday afternoon at 4:25 PM ET, on FOX when they kick off the 2016 regular season in Arlington at AT&T Stadium against the New York Giants.
The New York Giants had a 6-10 win-loss record last season partially because of their defense, which gave up the most yards in the league. The Giants now have a rookie head coach Ben McAdoo. He was promoted from offensive coordinator to replace Tom Coughlin, and McAdoo has already proved capable of getting good results from QB Eli Manning. The offense is still intact with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr., who’s one of the top receivers in the league. The health of the defense has been a concern though. That’s where they focused their offseason efforts with the additions of Janoris Jenkins, Damon Harrison and Eli Apple
The Dallas Cowboys had a 4-12 win-loss record last season, with an injured Tony Romo. Rpmo is out once again with a back injury. That puts rookie Dak Prescott under the spotlight and another rookie, Ezekiel Elliott, will line up behind him at running back. The Cowboys still have a tremendous offensive line, but it’ll have to survive without Romo, which they struggled with last season.
